Edward & Raquel Tillman, a husband & wife team, are seasoned sales trainers, industry experts, and thought leaders with a collective passion for empowering professionals to stay ahead of the herd and reach their full potential. The Sales Rhino was born from witnessing first hand, agents and agency leadership struggle with finding quality sales training for their team, including their own insurance agency.
With years of hands-on experience in insurance (carrier & agency) and sales management, they understand the unique challenges and opportunities that their clients face, allowing them to deliver tailored solutions with tangible results.
Edward Tillman is the founder of the Sales Rhino. He’s spent his career seeking opportunities to refine, improve and perfect his own sales performance as well as that of every salesperson he’s encountered.
At his core he is an educator with an immense passion to reach teach and share the knowledge acquired from the successes and failures of his more than three decades in business.
Prior to establishing The Sales Rhino, he owned and operated The Tillman Agency, providing financial products supporting individuals and businessesacross the southeast.
A USMC combat veteran, Edward holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Georgia State University, and a master’s degree in business administration from Pfeiffer University.
A proud Rotarian he served a term as President of the Mecklenburg County South club. Additionally, he spent 6 years as Chair of the Charlotte Transit Advisory Group and 3 years as Treasurer of Pack 613 for the Boy Scouts.
Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Edward resides in Charlotte with his wife Raquel, his two children and their dog Sprinkle.
Raquel Tillman, CPCU, President of The Sales Rhino, is a
seasoned insurance professional based in Charlotte, NC, boasting over a three decade of experience and a genuine commitment to her clients’ well-being. In her role as CEO & Chief Advisor of Tillman Insurance Advisor, Raquel brings a wealth of expertise across property, casualty, life, and health insurance, tailoring solutions to meet the unique needs of individuals and businesses alike.
A proud graduate of Spelman College with a BA in Economics and Emory University with an Master in Business Administration. Raquel is deeply engaged in the insurance community, currently serving as the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Chair for the Independent Insurance Agents of NC’s Education Foundation. She is also an active member of the National Association of African American Insurance Professionals, where she has contributed as a panelist for their agency talk series.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Raquel is a passionate advocate for literacy initiatives and dedicates her time to various non-profit boards, reflecting her commitment to creating positive change beyond insurance transactions.
Her leadership and personalized approach have earned her respect throughout Charlotte’s vibrant landscape, establishing her as a trusted advisor and advocate for her clients.
While she thrives in her professional pursuits, Raquel’s favorite role is within her family as wife & Mom, where she
enjoys cooking and spending quality time with Edward and their two children.
